Help deliver sustainability on some of the UK's most significant infrastructure projects

I'm working with a highly respected, international multidisciplinary engineering and environmental consultancy looking to appoint a Senior Sustainability Consultant to join its established London team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced sustainability professional who enjoys working at the interface of environmental strategy, design and construction, helping major infrastructure projects turn sustainability ambitions into practical, measurable outcomes.

You'll work alongside environmental, planning, engineering and design specialists, advising clients on sustainability throughout the project lifecycle, from initial strategy and design through procurement, construction and operation.

The Role
You'll take responsibility for delivering sustainability advice and managing workstreams across major infrastructure and development projects.

Key responsibilities will include:

Developing and implementing environmental and sustainability strategies for major infrastructure and development projects.
Embedding sustainability principles into project design, procurement, construction and delivery.
Preparing sustainability frameworks, appraisals, assessments and recommendations.
Advising clients and multidisciplinary project teams on environmental sustainability requirements and opportunities.
Supporting environmental management systems, including ISO 14001, and undertaking design and construction contractor audits.
Coordinating specialist inputs and managing the preparation of technical reports and sustainability deliverables.
Delivering presentations, workshops and training to clients and project teams.
Managing project budgets, resources, programmes and technical quality.
Supporting proposals, tenders and wider business development activities.

About You

You'll ideally have a background in environmental or sustainability consultancy, with experience advising on major infrastructure, construction, engineering or large-scale development projects.

We're particularly interested in individuals who can demonstrate:

A relevant degree in Sustainability, Environmental Management, Environmental Engineering, Climate Change, Geography or a related discipline.
Experience developing and delivering sustainability strategies within the built environment.
A good understanding of environmental sustainability throughout the design and construction lifecycle.
Familiarity with UK environmental legislation, planning and Environmental Impact Assessment.
Strong technical reporting, project management and stakeholder engagement skills.
Experience working with multidisciplinary teams and communicating sustainability requirements to technical and non-technical audiences.
An understanding of environmental management systems and ISO 14001.
Knowledge of PAS 2080 carbon management, BREEAM Infrastructure or sustainability assessment frameworks would be particularly advantageous.

Membership of ISEP or an equivalent professional body, together with Chartered Environmentalist status or progress towards chartership, would also be welcomed.

Why Consider This Opportunity?

This is an opportunity to work for a consultancy with an outstanding reputation for delivering innovative and sustainable solutions to complex engineering and environmental challenges.

You'll benefit from:

Exposure to major, high-profile infrastructure and development projects.
The opportunity to influence sustainability decisions throughout the project lifecycle.
Collaboration with leading specialists across engineering, planning, environmental consultancy and design.
Excellent professional development, training and chartership support.
A collaborative and supportive working environment.
Competitive salary and profit-sharing arrangements.
Private medical insurance, life assurance, income protection and flexible benefits.
If you're an experienced sustainability consultant looking to take on more challenging projects and play a meaningful role in delivering sustainable infrastructure, I'd be very interested in speaking with you.
