Posted 23rd June 2026

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious Air Quality professional to join a highly regarded independent environmental consultancy and play a key role in the growth of its Bristol team.

This position would suit either an experienced Principal Consultant looking for a fresh challenge, or a Senior Consultant ready to step into a leadership role with greater responsibility and influence.

Working within a specialist and highly respected team, you will lead technically challenging projects across the land development and infrastructure sectors whilst contributing to the future growth and direction of the business.

Why Apply?

Unlike many larger consultancies, my client offers a genuinely collaborative and non-corporate environment where individuals are trusted with responsibility and have a real influence on projects, clients and business strategy.

You'll work alongside experienced air quality professionals on a diverse portfolio of projects while developing your technical leadership, client management and commercial skills.

The business is growing, busy and actively investing in the development of new service areas, including climate change and greenhouse gas assessment.

The Role

You will take responsibility for delivering and managing a wide range of air quality and climate-related projects, including:

Air Quality Assessments
Greenhouse Gas Assessments

Road Traffic Emissions Modelling

You will also:

Lead and mentor junior consultants
Manage projects from proposal through to delivery
Undertake and review technical modelling using ADMS
Build and maintain strong client relationships
Support business development activities
Contribute to technical quality assurance and project delivery

Projects range from straightforward planning applications through to large-scale and technically complex development and infrastructure schemes across the UK.

At least five years' experience within UK air quality consultancy
Strong dispersion modelling experience using ADMS
Experience delivering air quality, greenhouse gas, dust and odour assessments
Strong report writing and technical review skills

A desire to contribute to team growth and business development
Previous line management experience would be advantageous, although strong Senior Consultants looking to take the next step are encouraged to apply.
