I am working with a globally active infrastructure delivery company looking to appoint an Environmental & Social Manager to join their London team.

This organisation delivers turnkey healthcare, technology and government infrastructure projects across Africa and Southeast Asia, working with government clients, international lenders and export credit agencies. The role sits within a global team supporting projects from early-stage development through construction and operation.

This is an opportunity for an experienced E&S / ESIA professional to play a key role managing environmental and social risk across complex international infrastructure projects.


The Role

You will be responsible for overseeing environmental and social compliance across the full project lifecycle, ensuring projects meet international lender standards and national regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities include:

Identifying and assessing environmental and social risks early in the project lifecycle
Managing procurement and delivery of key E&S studies including ESIAs, ESMPs and Stakeholder Engagement Plans
Overseeing consultants preparing environmental and social deliverables
Supporting site-based HSE teams and stakeholder engagement processes
Ensuring compliance with international lenders, regulators and project stakeholders
Managing environmental and social monitoring and reporting during construction and operation
Engaging with regulators, lenders and local stakeholders across project regions


The role reports to the Global Environmental & Social Director based in London and involves international travel to project sites at key milestones.


What They Are Looking For

10+ years’ experience in Environmental & Social consultancy within infrastructure or the built environment
Strong experience managing or reviewing ESIAs, ESMPs, stakeholder engagement and E&S monitoring
Solid understanding of international standards such as IFC Performance Standards, Equator Principles, World Bank EHS Guidelines and OECD Common Approaches
Experience working with multidisciplinary and cross-cultural teams
Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
Master’s degree in environmental science, engineering or a related discipline
Professional membership (IEMA / ISEP or similar) is advantageous

Desirable:
Experience working in West Africa or Southeast Asia
French language skills
