We have an exceptional opportunity for an experienced environmental consultant to join a leading oil and gas operator in London on a 33-month fixed-term contract. This prestigious gas pipeline project is currently in the design phase and requires a skilled professional to develop comprehensive environmental management and monitoring plans for both the construction phase and subsequent stages.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in similar projects, particularly in near and offshore pipeline operations. On behalf of our client, we are seeking an Environmental Consultant to become part of their dynamic in-house team in central London. In this role, you will design and implement environmental monitoring programs covering areas such as waste management, air quality, soil and groundwater, and ecology. Additionally, you will be responsible for creating effective environmental management plans for the operational phase of the project.

Responsibilities & Tasks

As the project Environmental Consultant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that projects meet environmental regulations and standards. You will be responsible for producing high-quality technical management plans and monitoring programs

 - Lead the design of environmental management and monitoring programs for the construction and operational phase.

- Develop and implement environmental management plans (EMPs).

- Provide expert advice on environmental regulations and compliance.

- Oversee site assessments and environmental monitoring.

- Liaise with stakeholders, including regulatory bodies and local communities.

- Prepare detailed reports and documentation for project approvals.

- Mentor and guide stakeholders on environmental implications.

- Stay updated with the latest industry trends and best practices.


Ideally You Will Have The Following:

- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in environmental consultancy within the UK oil and gas sector.
- Strong knowledge of nearshore and offshore environmental regulations.
- Proven track record of developing EMPs.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Relevant degree in Environmental Science, Marine Biology, or a related field.
- Professional certification or membership in a recognised environmental body is desirable.
